Hi,
Just got a Fal kit with tubular bayonet. I would like to know if the blade is supposed to bend towards the intended path of the bullet when installed on the rifle. Or, is it supposed to be straight. Mine has a decided "arc" that is gentle as if it is supposed to be that way. Just wondering, as I will probably never mount it anyways.

Thanks for your help,
Dave

The tube only mounts one way: there is a notch on the underside of the CD (Combination Device: MB/FH/BL/GL).

Yours 'sounds' bent.

The bayonets are easy to bend and should be straight.

Thanks for the replys,
Mr. Bayo met Mr. BFH and all is well in the world now. Straightened out nicely, leading me to question the durabilty/edge holding capacity of these bayonets. I suppose if they were too hard/brittle, they might snap off in the middle of a thrust and parry combination during some border skirmish in the other "land down under" SA

Thanks again,

Bayonets are not meant to be sharp. The idea is for the wound a bayonet would make to be a tear not a cut. Tears are not as easy to repair or heal as a nice cut.
