I was digging in the knife pile and came up with a couple sheath knives by Rudy Ruana in the early-mid 70's. I used to teach survival classes in NM and used these as examples of a well made knife that could be wedge driven and generally abused and still survive. I used to get them in quantity for about $35/ea as I recall. I just found the company on the web...I'm glad they are still in business. The price has gone up a bit.
Anyhow, these are well made, superduty knives. Honestly, I don't hunt with them anymore. They are just too heavy and heavy duty. However, they'd be a great knife for aircraft or vehicle emergency use. Beat on them with a big stick and they'd probably cut an aircraft in half.
