What size LS was used.I built mine on a DSA reicever and it used a .261.Just helped a freind do one on a Imbel and it needed a .264.Are the G1 chambers cut a little longer? Thanks :) :)

I have a G1 that I put on a DSA type 1 receiver. I used a .254 locking shoulder. The only issue I had was the gas system. I think the Tapco piston I put in it is no good. It fails to eject the brass with the gas full blast about 50% of the time. Other than that its a tack driver.

I just built one on an Entreprise, and it used a .262 to get a 1.632 headspace guage to go.
The first bolt (which was NFG) I used from a donor StG kit needed a .264 for the same 1.632.

Hey Stg 58,
I put together 2 of the G1's on DPMS receivers, these both required larger than normal LS (both .271), my STG kit required approx that size also. I believe Gunplumber says most in spec receivers/barrels will use a .261-.262. My collection of LS have a lot of this size, but many of my builds seem to have been slightly over/under as I experiment with other receivers. My DSA receiever did use (I think) a .262 with a .060 L1 breeching washer to time correctly. My Entreprise receivers also seem to average about .262 on most builds.

Well just wanted to update you guys on my fal build of the G-1 on the Hesse receiver. After solving headspace issues and a list of out of spec cut on the receiver. It used a .269 locking shoulder, I can live with that. It's been a long road on a Hesse. Never again!!!!! :) :D ;)

I built one on a Wiliams aluminum and it headspaced perfectly with a .261 LS.
L1A1 I had to use a .270, but it gages good.
Take Care All.

IIRC gunplumber states that the normal range is .257-.261. it no big deal needing the bigger size LS but i think few of us have a LS that size laying around. I think most have the in the "normal range".

My Entreprise Type 3 took a .254 I was really happy that it was in spec.
