View Full Version : Can you ruin your bbl. by over heating for a brake?

I don't know anything about brazing or soldering. I'll probably have a friend at work that is experienced solder my fake flash hider. I want to know how easy it is to damage a bbl. by over-heating it or is it anything to be concerned over.

I can't see how applying extreme heat to a bbl. wouldn't have some type of affect upon the steel.

Is silver solder good for this application?

Not real sure about over heating the barrel,probably not a good idea,but if you use mapp gas and (1100-1200 degree)silver solder I dont think you will have any problems,just make damm sure its very clean before you start.
