Anyone have a photo of what type of reticle/reticule this scope uses?

No pick handy. Its a typical German post.

Okay, so it basically looks like the "image" above only the line and dots are all connecting. I don't have the FERO but I do have its predecessor.

Edited, okay never mind I can't get it to work. The upwards arrow shown above sits right in the middle of the space between the two upper plains. The lines are etched in the reticle glass and reflect light back to the viewer allowing use of the an illuminator.

Go to eBay and type in Hensoldt for search. There are some for sale and they have pictures of the reticles. Hope this will help you.

Mine for a G3. I think the z24 is similar.

Did the guy mention if he had one of the aftermarket LED illuminators? The German issue illuminators are equiped with a standard bulb and make the reticle white/yellow.

The pic was on an ad for a Hensoldt ZF 4X24 Mod. 2 from a guy in Germany. The illuminator included was of the short variety - not like the long military model illuminators that take a AA batt. I think the red reticle is kinda neat & I'd like to pick up one of these illuminators despite that I have a new original unit (white light) for my Hensoldt FERO Z 24 G.

Another shot of the reticle. It was difficult to get it in sharp focus. This is about as good as I could get it.

I do not have much experience with scoped weapons, so my understanding of the 4x24 scope is limited. It is fixed at 4x power? How far away do you think that building is; how would an object appear at 100 yards?

My guess is that the building is only 50 or so yards away.

Low power is considered desirable in a combat optic, sniper rifles notwithstanding.

To me that building looks like its about 100 yards away?

4x is plenty good for out to 500 yards.
