Is that a real East German 7.62x39 sidefolder up at the top?

Think about how much money Iraq could make if they let us U.S. gun nerds buy all that recovered stuff... Anybody want to start a "buy back" program?

my question is about the person in uniform. is he an iraqi national or are you a contractor sporting the old choclate chip uniform? caught my eye, because he looks quite squared away, much more so than any iraqi soldier i have ever come accross.

Seriously though. Crap rifles go for what, 30 bucks apiece in the market at Ali's Guns & Death Emporium? Unless of course you pick up one of the many freebies buried in people's gardens, or recovered from some terrorist asshole's tea room... Pay some Iraqi kids a couple of bucks to run them through with a big saw and throw the parts in a box, truck all that down to the Gulf, ship the kits here on whatever beat-up Yemeni freighter is available and sell them for $100, maybe a little more for hand-pick. Send half the profit to the Iraqi government to spend on social services or whatever it is they need most. Tell me, who loses from that deal? We get gun stuff, the Iraqis get "guns of the street" and also a bit of $$...

I'd be happy to pay good money for a real recovered East German AK and help Iraq at the same time...

But no, guns are evil... sigh

Sorry, folks. Our military and our government don't trust us with guns that they're not issued. No bring-backs, no war booty, just turn in your guns and we'll scrap em for you.

F***in socialists.

To hell with the AK in the first pic. I want the bakelite mag. Those sell for about $50.00 here when you can find them. Did you happen to notice if it was Chinese or Russian?
