After doing considerable forum reading and visiting the Gunplumber's site at Arizona Response Systems, I am horrified at the poor quality of just about all US made FAL, Garand, M1A, and G3 receivers and other parts. I would like very much to build a good quality inch L1A1 clone with one of Tapco's kits, but will not waste my money on the US crap I've seen pictures of and described. Where does one get a genuine FN licensed inch upper receiver??

I just got an Enterprise Israeli receiver today, one of their Type 3's last month, and an old style inch Enterprise a few years ago. All of my recivers were in spec the first time.

Ask George Gouger (Double G)--he barreled the inch.

Ask Jayson Cotter(Investment Grade Firearms) he barreled the Type 3.

I will barrel my Israeli and from hand fitting, it will go together with no problems.

I've seen the pictures on Gunplumbers site, and those are shitty receivers. But, after trying out almost all of Enterprise receivers, All have gone together without a hitch. Call me lucky, or Gunplumber unlucky. My customer service experiences with Lawrence have been better than almost all other companies I have dealt with.

Go ahead and try an Enterprise inch--my bet is you won't be diasappointed. If it is unsatisfactory, return or replace it with Entreprises "lifetime guarantee". As far as another source for inch receivers, there are none.

Thanks for the quick input. Aren't those pics gruesome? I saw pretty much the same kind of stuff on Garand/M1A/G3 receivers elsewhere and gave up on the idea of buying a G3 clone of any kind and a cheap Garand. I was lucky to buy Springfield Armory stuff years back before all this rush to crank out banned clones of everything.

I think I'll wait awhile for more fallout from the tell-all product reviews and pics - I can't think of anything better to kick a company in the butt and get them motivated. I had probably better jump on one of the cheap Tapco L1A1 kits right now, though. I have a metric Imbel -58 clone and a small pile of 30-rd inch magazines - cut or not cut, buy or not buy the inch kit, hmmmmm.

I've got two of their Inch receivers and I couldn't be happier(Well I could, but, I can't have on original). Oh yeah i forgot to mention, no one is pickier than I am when it comes to form fit and function of a firearm, I mean NO ONE! I don't know what the issue between GP and Entreprise is, I don't really care it's his issue. I can only speak for myself, and I think Entreprise turns out a very nice receiver! It is as close to the original as anything currently being offered. I understand that Williams arms company is offering one in aluminum and will have a steel Inch version available soon. :D :D :D :D

Jim
