Annealed a few files, and broke out the dremel, hacksaw, and tools. Going to make a sheath knife, stacked leather handle with fiber spacers. Anybody know a website with knife profiles, preferably printable? Looking at making a dirk, or drop point shape, some decorative filework, and a copper crossguard and pommel.

Don't know if this will help, but worth a look.

Too bad you're far away. Got a big File I'd give you for your dirk project. I lost interest in it.

You're in a beautiful part of the country this time of year. I've been up that way a few times and thought about moving till I remember the winter I spent in New Hampshire...
Thanks for that site, it has some great templates for getting ideas on paper. I'm sitting down with graph paper and a pencil tonight. I appreciate the file offer, I've already got a stack of rummage sale finds. I am also putting new handles on a few older blades, and learning how to heat treat the blades I shape, next will be hot bluing them and an old shotgun.
I'll break out the belt sander this weekend, and if I can borrow the neighbors digital camera, might post something on monday.

Hmmmm.... does blood from a dremel wound count as a bonafied WECSOG
injury if the Files member is working on a knife instead of a FAL?

Where's Gary? He'll know.
