OK folks I'm building an Imbel kit on an Imbel receiver. The barrel timed to 10:30 so I used the old receiver and sand paper to cut the barrel shoulder back (used instructions I found on this board thanks to all). I used the rod method to time the barrel. Using sizing rods I bought from Mr. Elliott (got to meet him on Friday real nice guy with great products) I measure 0.257. The locking shoulder that came with the kit measures 0.267. Is the 0.257 reasonable?? Thanks in advance :)

Sure sound reasonable! If that's what you need, then that's what you need! The locking shoulder that came with your kit probably came out of a big box of locking shoulders! And they come in different sizes because of a stack up of tolerances on Barrel, Receiver, Bolt and Carriers.

I built an Imbel kit on an Imbel receiver. My locking shoulder measured .258 so i used it and the headspace was just a little snug. I used an India stone from Brownells and took off about .001 and now it great
