What's the best way to clean the internal threads of a parkerized muzzle brake so in can be silver soldered to the barrel, other than sand blasting?

Naval jelly will remove parkerizing or blue.

Apply with a Q-tip. Rinse off with hot water.

I have a bench top drill press, so I chucked a 12 gauge bore brush in it, spun it up and stuffed my brake on it until it was sufficiently cleaned. Works real well for me, solders them up nice.

On a related note, is soldering sufficient for the BATF, or does the MB have to be pinned as well?

BATF requires the use of 1100 degree silver solder. They consider that to be permanent attachment. HTH, Dan.
