Whomped one with a shovel teh other day. He was hanging around eating pecans, which I like to leave for squirrels and blue jays. Have to police them up when rats come around. They are foreign occupiers and not welcome.

I live in suburbia so I can't be cappin critters. Opossums eat roof rats, but I blocked the possum from getting in teh yard. If he does get in, he will eat the rat but then you are stuck with the possum, so it's best not to have critters around. Owls will kill and eat the rat but the owls may or may not show up. Rat had been eating bait blocks, which kills them slowly, and that's why I could get him with shovel. Otherwise he is too agile. Rat can climb up walls and run along power lines.
