How to mount NCStar

Just picked up a 3-9 x 40 rubberized NCStar scope but the rings that come with it aren't high enough for the scope to clear the handguard. Problem is with the rubber coating the scope measures 1-1/8" diameter. Do they even make rings in that size? If I cut away the rubber at the rings will it be 1"? Thanks

Might be a better idea to simply purchase a "riser". Unless you find one really cheap, you might as well have purchased a higher dollar scope.
