DSA did include a note to the fact ... Nice scope in better condition than I feared ...

Rivets look to be a weak point anyway ... I'm thinking of just tack welding the four corners and hit it with the liquid blue ...

Anyone got a better fix ?

TIA ... :D

There's a bunch of posts going back a ways about drilling/screwing this together, but for my money a tack weld at the front & rear is all you need.
Refininsh with Rust-Oleum Satin Black ( cat # 7777) and the finish will be as close to the original as I can find.
Just remember to mask off the "V" at the front, and the 2 "pads" at the rear where the scope contacts the "T" bar.
The "hook" and "post" can be masked if you want, but the contact points will give you a drifting zero till the paint wears off if you don't mask the contact points.

It's an old Brit service term for having been operational, usually in the Middle East.
The uniform there was those baggy, long shorts, and knee high socks over boots & gaiters.
You could always spot the new guy because he had no tan on his knees for the first few weeks.
It was also used to mean to wait till you knew what was going on before making changes.
As in: "Oh, for gods sake! Wait till you get yer knees brown!":uhoh:
