Thought i would try making my own barrel flats wrench to hold my barrel while installing it on my Dsa reciecver.Went down to the local scrap metal guy and bought a 6"Wx4"Lx1/2"T piece of steel plate for 4.29.Had the guy cut a 1" notch in the middle.Came home did some file work on it and it ain't pretty but it worked great.once the vise was tight not a movement at all.

I see a possible WECSOG award for "ugliest substitution for a common tool(wrench)" or "most overengineered replacement for a common tool." Good job.z

Around these parts, that is what's known as a BAW or "BIGASSWRENCH". It's exactly like a BFH only different... ;) :D

I use pretty much the same type of wrench except I drilled a couple holes to bolt it to a 4ft handle. It even gets those receiver stubs off without grinding, cutting or heating.
