From what I see at http://www.l1a1.com/cgi-bin/forums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=001178
There seems to be some interest in WECSOG paraphernalia and gift items. I just hooked up with a guy in Nevada who will make a prototype coffee mug for me. I sent him my cc info and a description of what I wanted. I figure a week or two for the arrival of the prototype. If the prototype is satisfactory, I'll post pics here, and y'all can buy 'em from the coffee-mug dude. That is unless Jen wants to orchestrate another group buy.
Hey Jennnn....
Lessee here, you can have your kit with or without the sling, which you may or may not be willing to allow to come in contact with your flesh, or you can substitute a coffee mug for two bayonets or a BFA, unless you live in California, then you can't have a coffee mug because they don't allow coffee in California because everybody there is on Prozac and coffee reacts adversely with other mood-altering substances.
I wonder if the guy at the mall will engrave WECSOG on the flat side of my bayonet?

...dang it!
I can't get that .wav link to work just by clicking on it. That's what I get for trying to be too clever I guess.
OK, so if you want a little taste of the Southwest, past the following web address into whatever software you use to play .wav files:

Hey, thanks! It's amazing what you can do with Adobe Photoshop and few bad influences. ;)
Just my way of trying to give a little back to this group. Since I started reading the FAL Files and realized that I could build them too, I've put together 4 for me and several for friends.
Here's a good example of WECSOG (not to mention Topic Drift :) ) -
I'm walking the aisles of a gunshow with a FALless friend who dreams of owning one but just can't afford to spend $1k on a rifle. That's when we spot a Century L1A1 Carbine.
Well, it came out CIA as a rifle, but someone decided to take a plumber's pipe cutter and chop the barrel short. Man, it was ugly! And the way the metal curled into the bore at the muzzle was frightening! I shutter to think what would've happened if someone had actually tried to fire it!
Other than that, it looked NIB. But, still, no one would touch it even at the $395 asking price. I grabbed my buddy and told him that was his FAL and to trust me and go buy it.
He looked at me like I was on drugs, but he went over and haggled - he ended up walking away with it for $235. On the way home he asks if we can turn around so he can try to sell this abortion and hopefully not lose too much money on it. I tell him to trust me.
We get back to my house and I start digging through my parts boxes - ah, here it is! I had a pristene L1A1 barrel that came in a kit I never used. I clamped his gun in my bench vise, got out my Casey Elliot receiver wrench, and about 15 minutes and one breeching washer later I had the new barrel mounted on his L1A1. A few strokes with a file on the locking shoulder and it was headspaced! :D
We took it out to the range and three clicks on the gas ring and two clicks of windage on the rear sight and it was complete and ready to go! He couldn't believe it! He actually now owned a FAL for less than $250! And it worked!
Ahhhh, WECSOG - it's a beautiful thing!

Oh Yeah, gotta get me one of them coffee cups. It'll look good next to my framed certificate as a member of AMOA (Abject Marksman of America), a highly rated and select group of Service Rifle competitors.
Lemme know when and how much!!

Count me in for a mug! Would he make a WECSOAR mug too? (Wile E. Coyote School of Auto Restification) I believe I can hold a doctorate degree from that esteemed institution as well as WECSOG!

Makes sense to me as I like to drink a LOT of high octane coffee before I get on the Dremel :p
Maybe it could be one of those high-cap mugs.

Hey R4 fan!
This is the pic:

You can put pretty much whatever else in the way of lettering you want on it. Just tell the coffee-mug guy what you want.
Remember, no prototype yet. Just a well-financed plan to build it.

So Gary, by the time I've banged, swore and bled my way through my first FAL assembly, you should have these things ready to go, right? If so, I'll take 2 just to make myself feel cool (if building the gun doesn't do it for me, haha :D ).

Today, I called the 800 number for the guy who said he could do the mug. His answering machine had a message stating, "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be closed until July 1."
He seemed like a pretty good fella. So, I figure I'll give him until after the fourth of July. If he's still missing in action, I'll shop for another vendor.

Hi guys great looking mug put me down for 2 gary do you take PayPal?
Point to note, be careful about showing this logo on the 'net' as WEC is a registered trade mark thingy for those at Wally Brothers and they will have no quims about taking you to court for using him. We had similar concerns when we adopted WEC as our unit mascot for the Engineer Squadron I was with. Just a freindly reminder that those big cartoon places look for peope "exploting" there products.

It's not my logo. As far as I'm concerned it is just (tasteful) grafitti. And I'm not involved in any money changing hands. Your local photo shop can probably make a mug for ya if you want. Just take 'em the pic on a floppy disk. I'm just waitin' for the dude out west because I already sent him my CC info. Any profit HE makes off this deal is HIS profit.
