View Full Version : Rear Sight Removal

I'v removed the adjusting screws from both sides of the rear sight assembly but I can't get it to budge. I'm letting some penetrating oil work on it for now. Can I use one of the adjusting screws to try and break the sight loose? I'm afraid of stripping the screw if I do. The only other solution is a punch and hammer, correct? TIA!

Use a brass drift to move the sight.

I use a brass punch to bang it off.
It usually goes smoothly once you get it started.
I recommend against using the windage adjustment screws to try to force it.
