I recommend this one (http://www.mountsplus.com/miva/merchant.mvc?page=MSP/PROD/24_RIFLE_SCOPES/SPO-MK3-NR3) plus its not made in a communist country and:devil:.....seriously either one would work if your looking for a low cost red dot....or even the BSA redots are supposed to me durable maybe not as nice looking.

I bought one of those and they suck. I had it on a FAL and took it off. The dot would periodically go off when I was shooting it. Its a POS. Biggest waste of $100 I ever did. Chinese knock off piece of crap.
I know this isn't cheap, but there was someone on the marketplace board selling eotech sights for $200. That's almost half retail. These are nice sights. I've got two and have been very happy with them. He might have one left.
IMO, get an el cheapo BSA, or spend some extra money and get something nice. Even a Kobra sight is better than that Tacpoint POS. To their credit, I have a Hakko BED-35 on a M11/9 and it works great. Doesn't have the military look to it, but I'm not fighting wars either so who cares. Maybe the ones made in Japan are reliable. The Tacpoint sure isn't.

You should have returned it under warranty. I have three and several hundred rounds through at least two FALs they are on. Never had a problem. If your first FAL had problems would the rest of the millions of them be crap too? :bigangel:
I do love my Eotechs though!!!

I got it on a "deal" from Texas Tactical here on the board. The scope came with no instructions and no warranty card. I paid $100 for it. Its the linger version.

from ARFCOM
"
I don't know if this will help, but this is Hakko's English website in Japan, and the email address they list is hakko@hakko-japan.co.jp."
I think TT is out of them, but you should contact them to see about returning it and getting another scope or credit...Lifetime warranty.
copy of warranty is here:

I have used an Ultra Dot on mine with very good results. It's low profile and when mounted with low rings it sits low enough that you can still flip up the rear sight and use the iron sights if your battery dies. It also sits back far enough that the carrying handle is still usable.
The reticle subtends about 5 MOA however so it is not what you'd call a precision sight, but is excellent for tactical purposes.
It like it a lot better on my FAL than I did on my 1911.
Price wise they are not bad either at about $110-125.

I've had a Hakko Tacpoint 1 on my ParaFAL ( SA58 Para Congo ) and on someone else's suggestion I had the battery replaced with a single unit from
R. S. . Their part # is 23-265.
On most of the Tacpoint red dot sights it was a battery problem, as under recoil the power supply by the battery was cut off for fractions of a second.
Try changing the battery, and see if that problem still goes on, before trading in or dumping your Hakko.
I never had anything to complain about Hakko optics. I've also got one of their riflescopes on a bolt action .308, and it works great ! ! !
