Compliance part ?

Hi guys,

I will building my first kit shortly, and I need to know how many compliance parts a US magazine counts as, is it 1, 2, or 3?

Are you talking about a FAL or an AK?
Either way worrying about mags is really not the way to go.
Put the correct parts in the rifle and use surplus mags that are made for the gun
Aftermarket US mags usually funtion poorly anyway.

Here is a list of the countable parts on an AK type rifle:

1. receiver
2. barrel
3. muzzle attachment
4. gas piston
5. trunion (part into which the barrel is inserted, only applies to rifle with stamped receiver)
6. bolt
7. bolt carrier
8. hammer
9. disconnector
10. trigger
11. buttstock
12. pistol grip
13. handguard set
14. magazine body
15. magazine follower
16. magazine floorplate.

According to federal regulations, an AK type rifle can have no more than ten of the above as imported parts.

It seems ok to use US-made floorplates and followers. I have Tapco followers in all my magazines (bought a load of them at at discount.).

I haven't found floorplates, but the magazines function great with the Tapco followers -- they are polymer instead of metal.

Falcon Arms has U.S. made AK floorplates, followers and some other stuff.
