View Full Version : Suit scope sight in??

I have a siut scope comming in this week hopefully and want to sight in for 300 yrds and 500 yrds(.308). I have available only a 25 yrd and 100 yrd range, before I use to shoot a RWVA the following Saturday.

I am having a mental block as to where my POI should be at 25/100 yrds to sight in for the 300/500 yrds.

If 25yrd(82' AQT standard) will give me a 200 yrd. zero! Then 3-4 moa from 200 should put me onto 300yrd.

So, 3" high at 100 yrds should do me for 300yrds, and it will 3/4" high at 25 yrds. Does this sound right?

Wait, should be about an 1'' high at 100 yrds to begin with, so 4" at 100 yrds will zero me at 300yrds.

Use the ballisics calculator on line at the Ammo forum or this one's pretty good:\

JUst enter the data you want to use, and tell it to calculate. Approximate the bullet from the avail list, for mil-surp; the diff won't be that much. Calc the sighth on/zero ya want and then see where it'll be at the yardage spec'd. Gives it in inches and MOA.

Don't forget that the SUIT objective is offset and not parallel to the bore. Somewhere in the vast expanes of the FAL-Files archives there is a post by Ted (EMDII) relative to this, and with the proper settings based on a 25m sight-in.

4" high & 1/2" left @100 yds gives a 300/500 zero for 150 gr @ 2800 FPS.

Thanks for the help!

4" inches is about what I figured, but forgot about the offset to the left.
