Quality does not come cheap, a good pair of rings will be $75+, and a premium pair will be $140+. Grenadier Precision and A.R.M.S. make good mounts for the FAL. Also, as a general rule, steel mounts and rings are better than aluminum. I have a pair of A.R.M.S. #22 rings that have held up fine during their so far limited use. I have experience with a limited number of brands, so bare that in mind. If you spend a lot of money, you will probably do just fine.

Burris Zee rings are very good and very heavy duty. Even heavier duty are Badger Ordnance tactical rings or Leupold tactical rings (i forgot the model, Mark 4 rings?).

What kind of rifle ?? Tactical Precision Systems makes a good Picatinny base and Badger Ordnance Base and rings are pretty much unrivaled . After a incident a couple years ago in which my 22-250 fell over in the back of the Jeep Wagoneer and I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to get it to zero and then stay there I invested in TPS rings and bases . Lately TPS has had some quality issues though . A good ring for the money as well is the Leupold QRW or PRW rings which run 40-50 bucks versus the 150 that Badger runs or the 70-80 TPS runs .

If you want me to look up some prices for you I have an account with Brownells and get dealer pricing so I may be able to save you a few bucks .
