You are rightly proud. My father has a listing there as well. They were good men who stood when the call came.

A good friend of mine found out much the same thing when his dad pased. He was with the 82nd Airborne. Participated in Operation Market-Garden, Bronze Star w/V.

He was amazed as his father never spoke of anything he did during the war. He did a job, and that was that. Truly, the greatest generation ever produced by this country, the likes of which never to be seen again.

Semper Fi!

Yeah, but the WWII memorial site is not a .gov site

My dad is in there because my neice emailed the info to the site host.
see http://www.wwiimemorial.com/registry/search/plaq.asp?HonoreeID=510307&addhonoreeid=&preview=

I'm sure rt's granpa is in there, but rt is just having a little difficulty with the computer.

This link should get you there:

You misspelled your granpa's name in the original post. That's why the exact-name search brought up no results for me.

Smokie, what days are you hitting Seattle? I need to know because I need to make reservations at the Wild Ginger. It is difficult to get in w/o reservations. Also I need to know so I can see about getting more ammo, maybe we can go do some blasting. I shot up the last of mine last weekend.
