I need a source of blades for some custom deer and elk grips I make and sell to the summer market. I inlay em with turquoise, coral or lapis, mount em and make a sheath.. presto, a not too expensive art knife for the tourists.
Anyway I was getting them from Atlanta cutlery and a few other places but the availability has dropped off. It appears theat AC is more interested in selling "Hollywood" knock-offs and the like, rather than to makers and hobbyists as they once did.
I can make the whole thing from scratch too, and have done with file steel, springs and assorted other blade stock- but that is very time consuming and and expensive- most won't pay the freight for that.
Anyway Ive been doing this for relaxation for years and need some more sources... thanks
