I just picked up a scope mount for my California legal FAL from guns part guy for my Congo from DSA . It replaces the original cover of bolt carrier goup and has room to mount a tactical scope (red dot). Any suggestions on a nice scope,

I got an Eotech 552 on a Larue mount from www.grtactical.com for an AR. I haven't had time to try it on my FAL but it's a great system and grtactical is top notch. check out thier site.

"Nice" has many levels.
The Aimpoints and Eotechs seem to be the well-respected units, but I have no personal experience with them, other than looking at them in a showroom.
I am cheap, so I gravitate toward the "bargian" units. By that I mean "less expensive" but still rugged and parallax-compensated.
Millet's SP series is accurate and functional. I just bought a Sightron for about $200. Also for about $200, the Burris Speeddot 135 is very tempting.
Stay away from the BSA, Trueglo, Tasco, etc in the sub-$100 category. They are just junk. I tried a BSA and ended up giving it away. I looked a a True-glo in Cabela's, and it was obviously not parallax compensated at all.
