Suit scope mount?

Seems like I read that there are two types or improvements to the dust cover fal suit scope mount. If I remeber on one the rivets can come loose. So how do you tell which Suit dust cover mount you have?

Also, I read to tack weld the front and back of the mount and you are good to go! how many of you have done this or do you find the rivets hold.

The rivets do not hold for long. I replaced with bolts, slipping the nuts between the dust cover and mounting plate. Some have tack welded but I personally worry about brittle welds. YMMV.

An alternative is to take the T-bar off the original cover. Drill and tap one of those cast scope mount covers and bolt the T-Bar to that.
