Anyone have a good supplier? I heard somewhere that they were selling at Tactical Forums for $1,600 but I can't find the thread. Anyone have another source? Thanks in advance.

Try the search as "Schmidt & Bender" I think that's the correct spelling.
(not sure about the "d") but is is a German name.
These darn internet "intelligent" parsers are way to literal for a typo to be taken into account when they do the search.

SWFA had it at a very inflated price. Any other suggestions?

Schmidt and Bender scopes are very expensive high end precision optics and they have a limited distribution network in the states. They are probably the most highly regarded military/tactical scope and military and law enforcement demand is limiting the availablitlity and increasing the prices on the civilian market so there are few bargains to be had on them. They are the tool of the serious professional and have never been a mainstream consumer item subject to discounting even under normal circumstances. The same can be said for most quality military grade optics from the US and Germany/Austria. SWFA is probably the best supplier.

Comparable military grade high end scopes from US Optics, Khales and Zeiss are at least as expensive

S&B scopes come up from time to time on ebay but they still go for close to retail. At best you save a few hundred bucks. Mostly you see Police Marksman 2s or the low power Professional Hunters up for sale not the new CQB models

If cost is an issue SWFA's Super Sniper series is very good and they are coming out with a variable version. Nikon's Tactical series has probably the best price/performance with impressive optics.

For close range work the IOR low magnification variable power scopes are a very good comparitivley low cost option and the CQB reticle is a really good comprimise between close in high speed accquisition, low light useability and longer range precision. I personaly prefer them to the S&B. DSA sells them and will take care of you if you have a problem with it.

I can not believe you are going to put that scope on a FAL! But hey, if you got the $$$$ then go and get the one from AR15.com since you wont find a better deal, plus it comes with a LaRue Mount.
