I was just wondering if the sight was calibre specific. I've since learned that the S&B can be outfitted for either calibre. Anyone out there know anything about the mount? Will I be able to achieve a suitable cheek weld?

Well, the LaRue mount is pretty high. It's designed for AR use. The center height of the rings is about 1.4 inches from the base. I think it would be way too high to get any kind of usable cheekweld on a FAL.

I used an ARMS mount and ARMS low slide in rings (I forget the part #'s, but look for a para in the photo section of this board three or four months ago)...it's been awhile so I don't remember the part numbers. I also used a DSA receiver cover. HTH.
