I was having a discussion the other day & the topic of distilling water with the old poy sheet over a bucket in a hole came up.
One of the points raised was that if there is no readily available water to distill you could use fresh plant shoots, leaves Etc.
Then the question was: If you use a random collection of shoots & leaves to increase the available moisture & some of them contain toxic materials, is the distillation process sufficient to remove ALL the toxic products?
Anyone here have practical (not thoeretical) experiences either way?

Dunno, but I know you can urinate on the ground around/in the hole and it'll improve the output without poisoning ya. Anything you can do to improve the output of a solar still is good. They just don't produce very much at all. Dig a couple and try'em, you'll be disappointed at their output. (any is better than none, tho)

You loose more sweat digging the hole than what the hole will produce..
Distilled water is just that....WATER

You could Schumer in a bucket, distill it and drink it with no ill effects. Distilled water is fine with the exceptions of benzene, acetone, etc. present. :skull:

Find a recipe for corn mash and then start your still, you wont get water, but if you drink enough, you mind the lose...:D
