What are your thoughts on these? Are they very good? Would you use one?

Thanks

I really like mine. It fits snug. It re-zeros very well. They are a little pricey, but IMHO are better than the clamp on style.

Top of the line in a removable mount. Great return to zero.

The guys at Mounting Solutions Plus had the A.R.M.S. No. 3 covers on sale for $99.00, You might want to check them out at www.mountsplus.com.

Good luck.

Thanks for asking this questions, I have been wondering the same thing. And curious as to why everybody seems to talk up the DSA mount, but not the ARMS. Is the DSA really a better mount? Or is the ARMS just under appreciated?

I think if I was planning on mounting heavy, long-range optics, I'd go with the DSA Extreme Duty for stability and durability, notwithstanding its "clunky" appearance and "gouging" of the receiver finish.

The ARMS mount is the most elegant and light solution in some applications. It looks like it "belongs" on the FAL rifle, and probably will last forever with a Reflex type sight, or a light (12oz or less) scope on low rings. I'd have reservations about putting a 20 or 24 oz scope on there, particularly with a large objective, where you'd be using medium or high rings.

Wow, Thanks for the great replies. Glad to know that it is such a good mount. I've heard that companies like Larue do a better job with quick release rings that don't get sprung like I've heard about ARMs. I guess I wasn't sure if this was a good mount or not.

One thing I wondered about is that it doesn't clamp to anything. How can it hold a good zero and the zero not wonder? I did notice that when on a FAL, there was absolutely no movement foward and backward with the ARMs mount. Would you consider this system reliable enought to put a scope on for longer range (300-600 yards)?

I have regularly used a 10x42 SS on my FAL/ARMS combination. Works just fine.

The FAL is NOT a precision rifle w/o a little work. Any scope improves it.

I use the DSA clamp on cover and it seems to work just fine for me, it is a pain to remove for cleaning but nothing earthshattering. As for optics I have never had a single Zero problem with it. I have always worried that the clamps might come loose and get bound up in the action but its never happened.

I think I might wanna try an ARMS mount on my next STG, see how it stacks up.

just my 2cents

After DSA notified me that their FAL scope mount is backordred until June I ordered the ARM #3 on sale now for $99 from Mountsplus. Afterwards, I noticed that what I ordered was the ARM #3 "Original" which has less adjustment slots than the ARM #3, which, like the ARM# 4, is "out of Stock". Should I worry about the difference? I have a STG-58 and a Izzy HB which I will use it on (haven't decided on which rifle yet, with either my Eotech 552 or my cheap 4X NcStar).

If my order for my 18" DSA Stg-58 Para Folder from Atlantic Firearms ever comes in ( I was warned of at least a 2 month wait) I might want the ARM #4 for it; if it still isn't available from Mountsplus can anyone recommend another source?or another Para mount that is available?

I bought one of the #3 original mounts from Mountsplus and had no problem mounting a scope. Fewer slots but it worked fine.

Entreprise arms still lists a #4 mount on their website, couldn't tell you if they actually have them on hand.

I've had an ACOG on top of an ARMS mount equipped frankenfal for the past several years. There have been no issues that I didn't cause myself.

Better looking than the DSA.

I really like my ARMS #3. I have an UltraDot mounted on it, it looks nice and performs very well-

How does the ARMS #3 or #4 compare to the Leatherwood or WAC QD-PRO?? Any opinions?
