What height rings ?? (MERGED)

I just ordered the DSA scope mount and was wondering what height rings to use on my FAL ? Most ring setups I have seen on the FAL are skyhigh and I was wondering if that was necesarry ? I have some TPS Low rings I was going to use with an old Bushnell 4200 4-12X40 scope .

I have a 3x9x40 on Leupold low QD rings. No problem. If its a wide angle lens, then you may need to go to medium rings to avoid ghosts at 2x or 3x. Don't know your scope, so I can't say.

If the Low Leupold QD rings will work with the 3-9X40 than these should work fine . The TPS lows are a fair bit taller than the Leupold QD rings .

If the Leupold QD rings will work than the TPS should be fine as they are a fair bit taller than the loopies .

I usually use mediums, not for any scope mounting reason, but I find the low ones make me crick my neck at an odd angle to get a good centering of my eye to the scope eyepiece.
I do use a cheekpiece & that with the mediums seems to work for me, but maybe I just have a long neck.
