I have a FAl Carbine that I am wanting to put some optics on but would like to get some input I am considering either the ACOG 3.5x35 TA11E or the Aimpoint CompML3. I like the price on the Aimpoint better but any opinions/experience with either would be appreciated.
Thanks

Maybe the choice will be dictated by things like: does the optic get hit by flying brass?
Do you have a carry handle & use it? If so does either of them block the handle?
Which one is more comfortable when mounted on the gun?
Just a few points to ponder.

If you are doing close-in shooting, you might look at the EoTech HWS. I have one on my FAL Para and love it.
Have not shot an ACOG on 7.62, just on a buddy's AR. This was the C model, the donut of death. Nice brite optics even in Arizona sun.
However, I would probably get the E model that you reference. Sure, costs more, but like most things you get what you pay for.

+1 on the ACOG.
Sure...it is a lot more expensive, but if you look you can find one for between $750 to 900 .....and you won't have to later add a 3X magnifier when your eyes get bad. The Donut of Death is mighty fine, but I prefer the Chevron version for its slightly bettery accuracy potential beyond 200 M. (easier to do the holdovers for 200 and 300 as well) Hard to find the chevron for the .308 because the military has first call, and they LIKE 'em. NO BATTERIES needed and they work with NV. oh yeah.
