I am considering one of the 4 power IOR M1 series scopes for my PARA. Anybody have any experience with these scopes, this combination, or even better, pictures?
I may put a 3x compact ACOG on it, I am just not sure yet.
Thanks
Ron

Please refer to the LATEST Boston's Gun Bible for update on the IOR scopes. Readers Digest version is: Glass is great (basically Romanian Zeiss) Eye relief is shorter than advertised, so you may get racoon eye or worse. To get see through capability , you must have VERY high rings and therefore will have to settle for a "jaw weld" ( no big deal for some) Finally, Valentine just does not understand the American standard for customer service.....(READ : you are out of luck if anything goes wrong) I was lucky enough to have bought mine from DSA who took care of my problem quickly with NO questions asked. Would I buy another one ? NOPE. ACOGS and Burris Ballistiplex for me. A cheaper alternative is the Burris 2-7x pistol scope on a CQB kind of set up. If you can afford it, I gotta say , the .308 chevron reticle ACOG is a beautiful thing

Very high rings?
I thought these were 30mm? That's not that high?

30mm is the diameter of the tube.

If you buy IOR you better buy it from a great dealer if not your most likely will be SOL! Eye Relief is a issue....Glass and Turrets are GREAT.

I built a heavy fal on a new G1 receiver. (photo on weaponarts .com X-FAL
(Unknown Customer's FAL)...
IOR was superb until it went foggy...then I sent it back to IOR in the US with a letter and contact details, Have not had a responce to phone or written comms. Scope is with them ! money is lost...Agree with previous post, buy an Acog

The IOR lists 3" for eye relief. ACOGs (or at least the one I was lusting after) claimed 1.5" Seems like if the IOR will give you problems, the ACOG would be at least as bad.
Moot with me, since they are a little out of my range.
