I'll let you know how they work after I go campin next weekend.

Materials:
Metal Paint Tray from the Depot
Tin Snips (I used Guinsu Scissors!)
Duplicolor bed-liner (outside of shield, Inside & out of Handguards)

Customized to my newly built G-1. Man I have way too much time on my hands!

The bedliner on the inside might cause a problem if you do alot of rapid fire. Might be okay with the liner.

Instead of cutting up those valuable :D paint trays, I'd recommend a less expensive, more versatile, & easier to
cut roll of aluminum sheeting. It's about 8"x25', about $7 a roll. The home repair places carry it, usually by the siding & gutters. It used to be called flashing, I can't recall the latest name for it.
Another alternative: self-adhesive asbestos, w/foil covering, automotive header tape.I use Thermo Shield brand,
1-1/2"x15' about $14 a roll. Being self-adhesive & pliable it's easy to cut & apply. Rated to 2000 degrees!

They should look like this (unless all that shows up is the dreaded red X)
