I recently got an Austrian leather sling from DSA for my StG 58. I have not seen any pictures anywhere to clue me on how this goes together, anyone out there that can lead me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Invert your rifle and insert the plain, untabbed end with the cross-hatch pattern (if any) face down through the rear swivel towards your buttpad.

Grasp the end you just threaded through and bring it up over and insert it through the leather keeper (leather ring on the sling - It should be in front of the rear sling swivel.

Push the sliding locking rod in the slider all the way towards the back and insert your sling tab in the opening through the slider.

Bring the tab up to the forward sling swivel. Insert the retaining button in the lower of the two holes in the sling tab. Bring the sling tab through and fold it over, inserting the retainer button that is sticking out of the sling's lower hole into the upper hole, thus attaching the sling to the rifle.

Adjust length of sling by pushing slider bar back to disengage lock and slide sling to desired length, pressing the slider bar back to re-engage the lock.

TinMan99,
I installed a STG sling on my IMBEL a couple of months back. I think I might have missed step 1 "invert your rifle" :D
