Ok..So I defnlty know 308s can reach with extreme accuracy on bolt action 308s

Im going to be getting soem new slides for the big FAL..and wondering is there ever "too much " scope?

I have a Leu -vari x 4.5-14 50 mil sitn in a box and feels lonely?

It seems to me i have not seen anything that large put on?

I would love to have a variety of slides..iiron sights -mid range and far range optic options..

thnks for any input

I basically want the option to hit soup cans at 300yds and beyond: )

I thought this was going to be a post about how many soup cans he shot with his FAL with iron sights?

Your scope should be perfect. Unless tuned your choice of weapon leaves something to be desired.
Soup cans at 300? With a match conditioned AR, as long as you could see them you could hit them...with iron sights.

choice or weapon?

Im not a big fan of .223s anymore

and if you mean an ar-10..im in a FAL fiese forum not an ar forum.

im a FAL fan: )

I think he meant that in general FALs, while having decent accuracy, may not be the best platform to try to hit a soup can (or egg) with one shot at 300 yards without some accurizing (if that is a word :) )

Don't pay any attention to some of these guys, they're just yanking yer chain.

Scopes? I have an accurized (yep, it is a word) FAL that I put together recently. It wears a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40 & shoots wonderfully. With Federal Gold Medal Match, I get at least 1MOA or better (trigger is the biggest handicap) at 100yds.

Now yer average run of the mill FAL?? Well, IF you get a good one, you could prolly hit your soup cans, other, 'well worn' rifles won't do much better than 4 MOA & some not even that.

Sure, there are superbly accurate AR's out there, I own several myself but as for the FAL, stick yer scope on it & go for it man!!:bigangel:

Just fer interest sake, what top cover/mounts ya gonna use? I generally use a QD Pro by WAC (out of production/business) & my accurate FAL wears LaRue QD mounts, pricey, somewhat fiddly to assemble but very, very good indeed.

I second that. Ya never know if it'll work until ya try it. Heck you may even find that your particular rifle is accurizable (I definitely made that word up:wink: )

thnx for info..

as far as covers go..well

Im really new to the world of FALs

i was given about 4 covers..

one has a small scope already mounted to it..the bottom of the rings seem to be "welded" on

the other 2 covers are just smooth..no attch points..

then i have one with the picattiny ? style rails..BUT!!..it doesnt slide on to eithe FALs that i now own..seems to b eto wide?..by about a 1/2 a millimeter?...Im not going to hammer it on ..as the other 3 covers slide perfectly on

Im just in here learning..Tonight im going to photo all my parts so ..You guys can help me say whats what..
