I've been wanting a good field knife for a while and noticed a couple Ranger knives in the Quartermaster catalog, I believe. They look like some really nice knives but I don't know anything about that company. Does anyone have any info/opinions about Ranger Knives?
Thanks, Gary.

Buy a knife from Cold Steel
I have a Tanto from them, it came razor sharp
and has a 3/16" backbone! It will go through almost anything
The thing is almost like a rial road spike cut in half
In their old magazine adds they would put one through a car door
then cut a thick rope with it.

Applegate makes a nice knife too but you will pay high dollar for one

Pretty much anything nade in the USA / Spain or Germany is
made with good quality steel
Anything made in China or Phillipines is made with junk metal
and does not hold an edge for nothing

Looks like a decent knife. It hacked through that oak pretty good!

I mentioned Cold Steel because although their website offers high prices I always see them at gun shows for about half price.
I got a recon tanto for $49.00, new I'm happy with it.

Ranger Knives has a good rep amongst users and makers....they stand behind their products. If there is a problem just give 'em a call and they'll take care of it from what I have heard.
