My nephew scored another nice bowhunt buck. I posted one last year that was a little nicer maybe. A 25 yard shot from his treestand near the Cedar River.

Firearm season opens here in Nebraska this Saturday ( 11-12 ) and I am getting fired up.
I am going to be a bit more patient than in the past and shoot something with big narly antlers this year  , oh hell who am I kidding I will shoot the first legal deer I see, just like always
maybe I will get lucky and nail a biggun, hey it could happen ;)

Not far from my home town, La Porte City....I was lucky enough to grow up with some of the best deer and bird hunting around.
Also nice growing up on a farm with several acres, never having to ask permission!
Thanks for the great picture,

The wife & I were out for four days over the last weekend deer hunting & due to bad intel from other folks, never saw nuthin' deer related.
Was the wife's first time hunting & she enjoyed it, 'specially when we nearly ran two big ass Elk cows over on the road to our prefered hunting spot! What made it even nicer for her was when we staked out a waterhole for the evening & we had an old cow Elk with 2 of this year's calves in tow & what looked to me like a 2 year old cow bringing up the rear. :shades: :D
Came right on in & slurped down a buncha water then slowly wandered off, all right at 200 yds from us.(doncha just love laser rangefinder binos!! )
Bodes well for our cow Elk hunt in Dec in the same area, bloody loads of tracks & crap everywhere. I ain't too upset I didn't tag a Bull in CO now, females always taste better anyways...
