That is an excellent price. It is over a $1.00 less than anywhere else I have looked.

These are OK, but I have found them not to be waterproof when used to transport food topside on a boat exposed to salt-water spray.

They dont slow down bears very much either.

If you really need them to keep things dry I found that burying them upside down with a sealed 2 gallon bucket rightside up inside of them works best.

My gammas were more than enough to deter black bears in the BWCA and Maine

COD

I would add that this was in early summer, and they might not have been assaulted to the degree a bear fresh out off his winter nap might have. Hunger breeds determination

I buy 5 or 6 gallon food buckets with lids and seals from the local bakery for $1.00 or $1.25. Got an aluminum lid lifter and a soft plastic hammer they don't have to stop bears just preserve my food. Store suger, flour, dry beans, grains, candy, Pasta, crackers, ect. Take what we need to fill a gallon glass Jar (also got from Deli for 50 cents) hammer lid back on. Glass and metal are good at keeping rodents and bugs out. We have poison and traps in the pantry don't like poison in kitchen. Gamma lids to me are a yuppy thing. Need the bucks for ammo.
