MRE entree average size/wt.

i was looking around and i saw an entree weighing 3.8 oz. is this about the norm? if so, what is the combined total of an average complete meal?

It depends on if they are genuine military or some civilian look alike.
I think a case of real mre's weighs about 25 lbs.....for 12 meals.
Now how much of that is real food and how much is cardboard, I cant tell.

The CURRENT MRE entrees are 6-8 ounces.

A 3.8 oz. entree might be from the 'early' days when MREs were first adopted or like Plain George said, a civilian version.
