Terms: I would like to keep this auction as simple as possible. Bidding will
start at $180. Minimum bid increment is $5. Price bid does not include
shipping(about $15 in CONUS). Post on this thread how much you will pay
for the kit. The highest bid that is not beat within 24 hours wins.
So the auction ends only when there are no bids placed after 24 hours.
Sound fair?

Now details on the kit!

What I have for sale is a very rare Belgian “type b” G1 kit. It is a solid kit
that would build a nice rifle. It has a type C stock with the early swivel.
The barrel is serial number 107! The barrel is in good shape for its age and
has strong rifling, BUT, has light pitting throughout, nothing major. The kit
is complete and I believe all parts are Belgian. I tried to take detailed pics
so you could see for yourself the condition of the kit…

Forgot to add that I accept Paypal +3%, Postal Money Orders, and Personal checks - but they must clear first.

I would trade for a pre-ban Entreprise L1A1 receiver, FMAP receiver, DSA receiver of any type, and all sorts of other FAL things +/- cash. I have the right to cancel or end auction at any time. Thanks again!

Yeah, I was surprised as well. It went for the same price people are asking for regular G1s. :(
Maybe people were turned off by the fact that it had some pitting in the bore, but it really wasn't anything major. It should be a good shooter.

It's fine though, I still made out good, considering what I paid for the kit. I hope Abominog builds it up into a nice rifle.
Maybe I'll put this money towards getting a receiver so I can build up that other G1 kit, Adam. ;)

The type B is the regular G1 the type A would be the rare one

I have a type B G1 kit I'd sell for $251 if there are any takers

I think you did good James87

I thought the type A was just like the Belgian 50:00 kits? I have one of those.

None of my other "regular" G1 kits have a lugged barrel with a threaded browning flash hider. I've never seen a kit like this one.

Hello look at the pics in the manual and note that type A &B both have open ear gasblocks and what look to be type A lowers which would take type A buttstocks. The type A is completely different than a standard Belgian 50.00 Thanks EX1

I see. So I wonder how this barrel got matched up with the closed ear gas block? Would the serial number, 107, be #107 - FN made for German contract, or #107 - mass produced rifle from FN?

Wow! sorry, I missed the browning flashider! I stand corrected!
That is different!
The buttstock is type C though with the ferule correct?

Abominog
September 12, 2005, 07:38
Well, just got back in town to see I won!!

Obviously, this is a mismatched jumble of parts. How correct is it? I'll try to figure that out.

It has been correctly noted that both A and B are shown with open ear gas block. Also, they have the type B stock, not C as this kit has.

But this just struck me as a unique assemblance with a probable interesting history.

Abominog,

Good luck with the win. I've been on the road driving to my Mom's in Chicago since my initial bid. I have an early Israeli light barrel parts kit (an A model) also with the Belgian flashhider. I initially thought it was an original parts set with the exception of the barrel until this posting. Now I realize I have a real early version of the Model A FAL that Israel bought from Belgium. Cool.
