strip the rifle and put it in a vise

Cut grooves with the cut off tool on both sides. Don't go too deep. Just deep enough to see distortion in the cut. That will be the start of the threads.Then pry up and separate the halfs. In the front area of the MB I cut all the way through.

continue prying and the thin metal will break.

On a receiver stub you can just cut the slot on one side(through the cocking handle slot) the metal actuals cracks easier than this muzzle break.

I did two in less than 30 min. Now if I could only find the flash hiders that I purchased a few months back!:confused:
