OK. I have put Aussie, S&B, Belgium and our favorite Indian 7.62 ball through this. It is 4" high and 6"-7" right. Front sight is all the way down and the windage is maxed out. It is a SA parts kit on a Coonan reciever. Shoots like a dream and never malfunctions. The barrel is in good shape. No pitting, sharp bore. The best groups sand bagged at 100 yds with the Indian ball. I think the barrel might be slightly canted to the left or the front sight might be bent?? Any ideas? When I set the rear sight at 300m it is center just to the right at 100 yds. Thanks

Your front sight needs to go up to lower the POI. If you are hitting to the right your barrel is over-timed.

Sounds good. Time to go to the range after backing the barrel off a hair.

Your suspision that the barrel is canted to the left is correct. "If it shoots to the right, the barrel is too tight". Assuming your rear sight is centered, you need to back it off 1 to 1.5* to gain back that 6-7". (One degree = ~5".) If your rear sight is already adjusted all the way left, you need the timing corrected 3* or more, which is a lot.

Is it shooting 4" above POA or 4" above where you want it using a 6:00 hold? If using a standard TQ4 100 Yd sight in target with 8" bull, it should be ~4" higher that Point of Aim (i.e. the bottom of the bull). If you sight dead-on for 100 Yds (or even 2" above POA), your rear sight calibrations will be off and put you too low at longer distances (300 to 600 Meters).

As noted above, just unscrew the front sight a few clicks if you want POI to equal POA at 100. A half turn would probably get you there and would also indicate if the front sight is bent.

I'm not sure why it comes back in when you use the 300 sight setting, but things get squirley if the barrel is not timed correctly.

My mistake, I meant impacting low. I had to aim high to get center.

That's a somewhat common problem with the Coonan receivers, I'm afraid.

Bummer, guess I will have to use the sight at 300m and try to work the barrel or front sight. Thanks
