Has everyone gotten their para stock from the group buy? I ordered on the Monday morning after Doug emailed the info, and nothing yet. This is really holding up some projects now.
I will wait to call Sarco until I get the general consensus of this board.

I received my folder today...I actually called yesterday to cancel the order because I was unable to get in on Doug's para kit deal...so I will be sending it back to Sarco, unless someone wants to buy mine from me. This would be the"humper special" first of Doug's group buys for a para build. I believe this is the folder with the lower assembly. If anyone is interested please email me at aubienittany@yahoo.com
folder has been sold to another FAL member
I called this morning and mine has shipped and is in ILL. on its way to Idaho.:D

Humper Specials were not reserved for the group buy only. It's just that those who ordered thru the group buy got them cheaper. I am waiting to see if I made a mistake sending one of mine back for replacement because the lower was trashed. The rest was great shape.

I was only pointing out that someone that must have ordered later than most already had theirs.
No complaining about "group buy".
Dave:bigangel:
Got mine Thursday while OOT. About 75%, some rust at the knuckle, but straight, and the rust came off with penetrant. Stripped clean, but well: no marks, etc.

Arrived today. Better than expected. Thanx Doug!!
arrived today, lower looks like it was run over by a truck. para folder seems to be in working order but also looks like it was run over by a truck about forty times. lower is t2 south african completly rusty and bent in two places... where the trigger spring/plunger hooks on and where the pivot pin goes through. all and all it will bend back and clean up and repark (lower) and repaint (alum folder) ok. thanks DG31 you did good!
regards,
f
Mine arrived today as well, Ted pretty much described what mine looks like,Very happy with mine. Thanks Doug

Got my replacement today. It's great can of spray paint and it would be better than my regular one($150.?). lower is a rebuilt metric not para cut all magnetic. but it locks up OK . That is the main thing.

Mine finally arrived, not to shaby to see, but it has dings on the alum. arms and could maybe use a new buttpad.
Still has a nice park job and no rust, hinge works smoothly, big rivet is in like new condition.
Overall, I think I got a good deal on this one !
Thanks alot Doug Jones !

Thursday, May 19. I have been on the phone to Sarco for 3 days. Finally, I find out my order was never shipped, but will be processed today. They gave me a new order number and told me it will be two weeks.
I would be mad except for the price we got and the scarcity of the parts. Now if we can just get carriers and topcovers.......

Finally!!!!!!!!
May 25th, after almost exactly 2 months, my para stocks arrived. Some of the lowers are T-1 and some T-2. I never knew what you guys meant, being an Inch kind of guy...
Overall I am very pleased. They need a LOT of cleaning and then the repair/rebuild will begin!
Thanks Doug for putting this together!

Has anyone approached SARCO to do a group buy for the non para specific parts that we need to build the stripped para lowers?
I saw two parts kits on their website for FAL small parts. It appears that you would need both kits to get everything you need plus a lot of what you don't. Total cost is ~$70. If we get enough people maybe we could do a group buy for the stuff we need.

dont want to sound like a stick in the mud, .... i ordered some of the parts you speak of and they are super icky. really worn out run down no finish havin' R1 parts in serious need of refinish. imho you would be better off to buy a whole r1 kit and at least have some trinkets to peddle after gitten what you need.

That is good to know but I was probably going to paint them to match the stock and lower that I had to refinish.
Maybe we could try DSA.
they have always done me right. the complete stg lowers are ninty some bucks i think.
i am sending the parts i bought from sarco back to the mother ship, and will find parts elswhere:?
