View Full Version : Best Way to Shorten Length of Pull?

What's the best way to shorten length of pull on FAL? I've looked at Kaiserworks lower that uses an AR collapsible stock, but it positions the head too low for a good cheek weld, particularly if using optics. I've thought about a para setup and cutting the tubes shorter, but that's an expensive method, and while paras look cool, I don't think they work all that well. Does anybody make a short fixed stock, or at least a THIN buttpad? Any other ideas?

Why do you think that?

I'd kind of like to know what you're thinking too.

I can't claim to speak for Director, but I can say I strongly prefer the fixed stock over a para. The para works okay, true, but I find it somewhat less comfortable a cheekweld, and I'm guessing ot's a bit heavier. Great if you're jumping out of aircraft/helos, or riding around in an APC or something, or if you've got a storage space problem, but otherwise it doesn't strike me to be as practical as the fixed stock. Sling attachment isn't as useable, and useless if you are a lefty.
Sure, it looks cool, nothing wrong with that, but looks ain't necessarily the most important factor ------my exwife is a prime example:rolleyes:
Just MHO - except for the last line - that's a fact !
