well i got my cane mill. it is about 100 years old. now i need babbitt barrings poured. i am looking for a 60 or 80gal. kettel. it is a golden's #2 should be up and running by dec.~Richard

Here in the midwest, you find them used for pressing sorghum. It's amazing how they keep the mules constantly walking a circle.

i hope you got a lot of sugar cane cause it takes a lot to make sugar .

My Grandfather had one and I remember feeding the sugar cane to the rollers as a kid. He also made syrup for other people on a 1 of 7 or 8 gallon share.
He had a large copper tray about 4' wide, 6-8 feet long and 1 ft. high with a series of wood baffels coming in from alternate sides.
Wood fire underneath and the cane juce went in one end and by the time it slowly snaked its way back and forth to the other end, it was syrup.
Good old days on the farm where I learned to shoot a .22 in the apple orchard. Dave
