Tude's Gag-A-Mag Catfish Chum Recipe
5 gallon bucket (painted black to hold heat)
8 lbs of cracked corn
1 pkg of yeast
1 can/bottle of nasty cheap beer like Bud.
Loose fitting cover for the bucket.
Combine cracked corn, yeast and beer in bucket, fill with water so it is about 2 inches over the corn mixture. Stir ingredients completely, cover loosely, set it in direct sunlight. Stir every 3 to 4 days. Don't be spooked if you have grey foam on top and maggots wiggling around. The chum is ready when you gag hard enough to pull a muscle.
Don't be a smart azz and use a tight fitting lid while "aging" the mixture. You'll be shaken when you hear an explosion and the nastiest mess in the world is now all over your house, pool, shed, mower, and neighbors dog. This stuff needs to "breath" and expand a little.
Take it to your fishing hole and scoop out a few scoops and spread it in the water where you'll be fishing. It's best to do this a day or two prior to fishing that spot but it will attract cats quickly no matter. If you have a dock, just pour a little of this in your dock feeder for a "time release effect".
I've also poured this into stockings, tying a knot in the leg and securing it to a rope to be tied off and refilled later.
This stuff works.
