ProEars.
Peltor Tac 7 are also nice, but a bit heavy, IMO

Thanks for the reply, I am considering the Pro Ears: Pro-Slim Dimension 1. Seems like a good compromise in NRR and relatively thin.
Anyone have experience with these?

I think that is what I have - got 'em from Midway a couple years ago. I have the behind-the-head model. I work at a pistol range, and they haven't let me down yet (in spite of my dog wizzing on one of the cups..... long story).
Only downside is the "N" cell batteries. Take 4, 2 per side. Expensive little critters unless you can buy in bulk. Botach Tactical had some a while back for a really good price. Fast delivery, too.

Midway (http://www.midwayusa.com) has a lot of customer reviews for various brands of electronic hearing protection. I've found them useful.

I snagged a set of the Peltor COMTAC's on sale at a gunshow. Really nice, light weight, thin profile and best of all, runs off 2 AA batteries. Also has a cutout on the right muff to keep the muff off a rifle or shotgun stock. Stereo microphones and simple volume controls. Downside is they are spendy.

I have always been happy with my Peltor Tac6 headset. Runs off of 2 AAA batteries and fits under my helmet when out on the range with the .mil folks. Now if I could only find the damned things

Thanks for the replies!
I guess I should also take a closer look at Peltors. I like the idea of cheap, readily available batteries.
