Trying to ID two 30rd Inch mags and I'm having no luck at all in the reference section.

#1. I'm thinking is Indian, it's curved, black semi-gloss paint finish, parked follower, marked;

Right side; SA , I^A , S.A.F. 1981 , MAGAZINE. 7.62.M.M. 3A1 , 1005-005710

Left side; K , W

Follower; SAF-82 , 1005-006337

#2. I'm thinking is Canadian, it's strait, dull black paint finish, bright follower, no markings anywhere.

Thanks for any help, YOOO VINNY

I am assuming that these are both inch mags.

I agree on number two.

My Brit Bren mags are not easy to get at but my single 20 round Indian mag has no NATO part numbers on it. I suspect that the curved Bren mag is Brit. or Aussie.

Yes, both inch pattern.

I was guessing India on #1 because of the I^A marking.
That and the overall appearance is much cruder then the Brit ones I have.
The Brit's have nice small welds and are marked L4 I believe.
This one has big welds that were very roughly ground down before it was finished.

The first mag is the Indian copy of the British L4A1 magazine

The second could be Australian or Canadian 30 round mag for the L2A1 or C2A1 they are basically the same mag.

If you want to get rid of the Indian mag I've been looking for an example and i'll take it off your hands. Failing that could I get a set of photo's of all sides and markings please. :)

Kevin,

Did the Aussies make curved 30 round Bren mags in 7.62 NATO?

"the overall appearance is much cruder then the Brit ones I have."

Dead give away there!

Post some pics Vinny.

Wow, the front and back are sure rough. I wonder, is 3AI the 7.62 Bren designation in India?

Canadians made the Aussie 30 rd mags. Only difference is the bright nickel-plated follower, that being CDN.

I have gotten plenty of L2 mags from Australia and most of them have bright followers which is unique to Canada only, makes me think that all the Aussie straight 30's came from Canada.
