"looking cool" - High CDI (chicks dig it) factor get trumped by functionality and IMO shouldn't be used as a factor in deciding whatever load carrying equipment you choose.

Best of luck in your search.

Kf

If thats the case, then I should sell gear with Gucci DKNY Tommy HeyFlipme labels

I have a roll of pinkish edging to make any kit more 'PC' and COOL to them masses :-) Just ask the guy who bitched about gear looking cool and and so I tacked on a bit of pink frilly lace.

It should be a solid pice of equipment that works when its supposed to, keep contents at the ready, if it busts, it should be readily fixable in the field or atleast have some redundant means to remain intact until serviced, and should be compatible with the vast majority of platforms on the market.

Off my soapbox,
EGG

I have a vest from FMCO rigged for my FAL. It's the cat's ass. All US made, no imported material etc........ Lifetime Warranty.............. Excellant customer service. They will custom make or configure anything you want. They're in Oregon.

Not able to post picks but I have the CSV vest with 6 mag pouches and two utility pouches with and upgrade to the recon pack and with the sleeping bag carrier. The mag pouches each hold two mags, are divided, and have drain holes. The two utility pouches will hold mre's or other smaller items. The recon pack is larger than the issued pack so I mounted the recon and use the smaller pack as a shoulder slung drop pack. No velcro or zippers. Quite comfortable indeed and certainly well made here in the good ole USA.
Theirs a lot of stuff out there for the poodle shooters, but this vest is for real rifles. FMCO will custom make bout anything for you and are great people to work with. My buddie who is a really big guy, (400 #'s) want's a vest like mine but the vest is too tight. I talked to the owner at FMCO about getting material added to the shoulder area for a better fit for my buddie. No upcharge says the owner. He told me to take certain measurements and to send them to him and he'd fix us up.
