Well here we go again (for the first time).

I've ordered Mags from I/O several times before (even knowing their reputation) and have been very pleased. Not this time.

Myself and two amigos jumped on the sale priced VG-Excellent StG mags (with witness holes) @ 19.50/10 + ship. We ordered 30 total. Package arrived today and had 1 VG Steyr mag plus 29 (less than VG-Ex condition) of a mix of Imbel, FN and other (SA?). The invoice is marked "FAL/STG58 20 Rd Steel Magazine Used VGC".

I left a voice mail for them to call me on Monday. We shall see how it goes (but I'm not holding my breath). Either I get it fairly resolved or my credit card co gets a complaint and request to cancel payment.

Jeez, at $1.95 a piece, I'd be happy as hell to just get a functional magazine.

In most cases, a functional magazine for $2 is a good deal BUT... IO has been screwing people over for some time. (Myself included to the tune of over $300). If they send you rusted junk or wrong/falsely advertised items... they still try to hit you with the 20% restock fee and the matter of the fact is that they advertised 1 thing and sent another. In most cases, I'd blow it off but I know of far too many people that have been burned by IO.

Now... They have done good also. I've received a few things that were as described also but being burned by a company and then they have the nuts to try to claim a restock fee for their inaccurate desciptions leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Not if the ad read:

"Save $$$ on a 10-pack of VGC-EXC Steyr-made FAL metric mags. Very good used FAL/STG 58 20-rd. Metric Steel Magazine. These have the Parkerized finish and witness holes. Will fit all metric FAL/SLR types. NO MAGAZINE DELIVERIES TO CALIFORNIA, MASSACHUSETTS OR NEW JERSEY WITHOUT SPECIAL PERMIT!"

BTW, the sale ended November 28.

Hey Shootist, rather than do the restocking fee hassle, I'll take those mags off your hands for what you got in 'em. Let me know.

I talked to Stephanie from I/O today. They have agreed to pay the return freight to send the Not-StG mags back and send me replacements. I’ll ship them back when I get the return pre-paid label.

(I’ll also be looking to see if they bill me again.)

You are probably right, but maybe I'll get lucky in the final chapter.

I got a package today with 15 excellent to brand new StG mags. The only problem is they shorted me 14 mags (I only returned 29) and probably charged me full price for the replacements received.

To be continued....

wonder what they'd say if you mentioned a negative thread about them that's had over 700 hits?
that could be 700 potential customers... granted, it's probably just a couple hundred of us waiting to see what's going on.

700 huh? Who knows, maybe they have a FILES member.

Well, I'll post chapter four a little early.

I called them today and was assured they did not charge me for the replacements. The invoice says "FOB Monroe" which means no charge, or so I'm told. The invoice was extended @ $1.95 X 30 mags with no freight added.

Also they just could not understand how they could have shipped only 15 replacements instead of the thirty listed on the invoice. However, after checking with someone, the guy did not argue the fact and said the balance would be shipped Monday.

Persistence and follow through pays off after all? Maybe.

Caveat Emptor and check credit card billing!

I dont care if I/O is giving away free mags plus shipping . I will not buy anything from them at all. Even when they set up at KCR before they got the boot. I will not buy from them there are far to many other reputible companies to do buisness with.

Sorry for the rant:D

Ditto.

My one and only experience with them was enough. My "grade I" IMBEL kit with the paint runs and drips all over it, on top of the $50 restocking fee they hit me for was a lesson for me.

Final:

The balance of the mags came in today. All excellent condition (surplus). One was an FN instead of StG, but for $2.00 I guess I can live with it.

Dickheads.
