I have been shooting for a long time, but I don't know how to use my new slings correctly. I have never used anything like this and would like to know the correct way to adjust them and use them. Any info you guys have would be great, especially pictures. Thank you and thank you Rooster for making such nice and affordable slings!:?

USE:
First off my slings offer a variety of carry positions: patrol muzzle down position, patrol muzzle up position, across the back with muzzle up or down, backpack carry, and traditional hasty sling carry position. I will try to show each of these in the following pictures.
I will start with some pictures from a fellow member 48th Highlander .... he is carry is the patrol muzzle down position:

Here is a LINK (http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=835191#post835191) to the thread where 48th Highlander posted these pictures with some discussion on the matter.
Here are pictures of some of the other carry positions ....

ADJUSTMENT:
I adjust the sling so that when the weapon is shouldered, the sling is taught and provides a steady platform for off hand shooting.

That second troopie is much tougher looking than the usual euro-fags the modeling agency always uses
Ditto the compliments on your product, Rooster - everyone ought to use 'em.

I'd be happy being able to figure out how to attach it to the gun, much less learn carry positions.

finnally got off my butt and istalled the sling. Thanks for the pics, really helped.
Question, Should your check rest on the buckle for firing or rest ahead of it?

That is a personal preference, but I tighten the buckle down a little more so than shown in the picture so they do not end up on the curve as much.

Hi Rooster. I have installed the sling on my FAL per the pictures. It is difficult to get it tight and to have it lay flat against the buttstock. I haven't had success in doing that, so I just left a bit loose.
I think it would look better if it was firm up against the buttstock, but overall it looks pretty good and now I can carry my rifle around without using my hands.
I haven't been able to figure out how there are 6 different ways to use the sling.
Where can I get pictures to show the different ways to use the sling on the FAL?
Thanks.
Sidney

Getting the rear strap tight against the stock takes a little time and patience but when done will provide a full proof and very secure hold on the rifle. I will get some pictures up of the various positions as it looks like my image host isnt working.

Thank you for your response. I'll fiddle with the strap a bit to see if I can get it snug up to the buttstock, but I did not have any luck with that last night. Look forward to the pics.

Installation on a "Sling Thing" is just like installing on the front sling swivel

OK Rooster,
with this post, and your help I have finally gotten this type sling installed properly.
Now I also have another that has the Loop (wraps around the handguard?), in front, and the Pocket in the rear (for the stock to set in).
How the hell do I get this thing on correctly?
I can make it work, but I don't think it's correct?
